Corinna von der Groeben

*1986 Bonn, Germany. Lives and works in Mexico City.

She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe under the guidance of Master Franz Ackermann, who awarded her the title of “Meisterschülerin” (Master Student). During her undergraduate studies, she participated in an exchange program at the National Academy of Fine Arts (FAD/UNAM) in Mexico City. Upon completing her master’s degree, she was selected as one of the six artists in residence at Casa Tomada in São Paolo. In 2012, she received the Frida Kahlo scholarship from DAAD and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico (SRE) under the guidance of the National School of Painting, Sculpture, and Engraving La Esmeralda (ENPEG) with tutor Adela Goldbard. From 2013 to 2014, she studied documentary photography and photojournalism at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York as a fellow in the George Joyce Moss program. In 2013, her work was featured in an extensive solo exhibition titled “Ateliereinblicke 2013” in Karlsruhe and Berlin as part of the support program for young artists by EnBW Baden-Württemberg. She received the artistic creation scholarship from SRE under the guidance of ENPEG with tutor Andrea di Castro in 2014. Her work has been presented in numerous exhibitions in Europe, the U.S., and Latin America. She currently teaches the photography production workshop at ENPEG and Photography II at CENTRO in Mexico City.
